Cold Fall mornings!

Bonjour family and friends!!

I hope you all had a great week. It has been a lovely week here in the Montreal Mission. We had such a wonderful visit from Elder Golden of the Seventy. Monday night, there was a little meeting with him and with all the leaders in our mission. The next day Elder Golden taught us at our zone conference.

The zone conference was awesome and the spirit was so strong. It was, by far, one of the highlights of my mission. We received so much inspired counsel for our mission and I received a lot of  personal revelation that day. Elder Golden is definitely a servant of the Lord.  He taught us how we could achieve significantly better results in the Lord’s work if we make a few relatively minor changes. The Book of Mormon teaches: “Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise. And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very small means the Lord doth confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls.” (Alma 37:6-7)

Elder Golden spoke about the need to have exact obedience.  If we fix the small things, we will see significant changes in our mission. Missionary work requires exact obedience. You will win or lose the battle everyday before you leave the apartment as we arise on time, exercise, and do our studies. The Lord works by small means. Lucifer likes the grand plans, but the small things are the pattern of the Lord.

Here are some random quotes from him that I loved!  I am sorry if this is not interesting to you..
“We are in the business of miracles. God is a God of miracles. Dont ever forget that!”
“We haven’t been called because we are qualified. We have been called and He will qualify us.”
“The Lord loves to work through the weak and simple so we learn to become dependent on Him and put ourselves in His hands.”
“Don’t let pride ever let you think you have a better way than the Lords.”
“When you give your will to His will, our will changes.”
“Obedience is the Lord’s strength. Disobedience is our own strength”
Well, I’ll stop with the quotes. It was just a great day full of the spirit!!

I will leave you with the best miracle from this last week. Our recent convert in our ward, Josue, brought his friend to church yesterday!! His friend loved church and is super interested in learning more. We have a lesson with him tonight…so super excited!! His name is Jean and he is from Haiti. I love teaching Haitians, they are my favorite.

I love missionary work. I just feel energized and ready to work. 🙂  Nothing can replace the joy of missionary work and serving the Lord with all your heart, might, mind, and, strength. Have a great week. Remember to trust in the spirit and to focus on the small and simple things of the gospel. “Simplify… allow His grace to carry us.”~ Elder Uchtdorf~
I love you all!!

Avec amour,
Soeur Hunt
